Govt grants funding to two Clare communities

The government has approved almost 700,000 euro in funding for the construction of community buildings in two Clare areas

A new community and cultural centre is to be constructed at the soon-to-be-restored and expanded Church of Ireland Building in Kilkishen, aftre over 386,000 euro was released to help fund the project.

In Inagh meanwhile, 300,000 euro has been granted towards the construction of their community centre which consists of the conservation of an existing 17th century church and construction of a new adjoining hall. 

The moneys are to paid by the Clare Local Development Company, after it received the green light to do so from Environment Minister Phil Hogan.

Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey says the development in Inagh has come as a big boost to residents there.
