Govt Accused Of Failing To Learn From Past Mistakes Over Trauma Proposal

A former Clare Chair of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West is accusing the Government of failing to learn from past mistakes.

It’s after the cabinet approved a reform of the country’s major trauma system, which would result in two major trauma centres being established in Dublin and Cork, if implemented.

The centres would be supported by a number of other units for less severe injuries, while Galway would have a unit with specialised services, but no neurosurgical facilities.
