The Government is being urged to support a business which it’s said is “found in every parish in Clare” in Budget 2026.
The Irish Farmers Association has issued a plea for the Government to follow through on commitments made in the Programme for Government in relation to the suckler and sheep sectors.

During the 2024 General Election campaign, Fianna Fáil committed to providing €350 per cow and €35 per ewe while Fine Gael promised €300 per cow and €35 per ewe.
Feakle farmer and Clare IFA Chair Stephen Walshe says adequate resourcing of the sectors is of critical importance to this county.
