A government Minister is being urged to make an urgent decision on works to curb potential flooding on farmland in West Clare.

Dozens of acres of land in Doonbeg, and in Ballynacally and Kildysart were submerged early last year in flooding caused by the winter storms.

Farmers have been lobbying the Minister for the OPW Simon Harris to grant them money for works on protective embankments, but are still waiting for a decision.

Clare TD Michael McNamara fears they'll face another winter in danger of flooding if the green light isn't given soon.
