The government is being told it can save money by making extra funds available for works to be carried out on Clare’s local authority houses.

Around 550 people remain on the waiting list for essential Housing Repair grants, even though Clare County Council has awarded money to 260 people this year.
The Grant is made available to allow for improvements including the installation of stoves, ranges and windows.
Kilkee Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Keane says more money is needed soon, so people can improve their homes before the worst of the winter weather strikes.
