Councillor Johnny Flynn says that with population growth of 50,000 up to 2040, Ennis should be looking to secure 656 million euro by the end of the next decade.

The money would come from the 115 billion euro capital plan, and cover a number of items including a new water treatment plant for Ennis, as well as works to address flooding at Ballycar and a town bus service.
