The government’s latest efforts to get people back to work are coming under fire.

Under the new ‘Better off in Work’ campaign letters are to be sent to all welfare recipients outlining how much better off they are working instead of receiving the dole.
Research commissioned by the Social Protection Minister shows that 75 per cent of people in receipt of welfare would be better off earning a wage while the research also shows that 3 per cent are actually better off signing on.
Andrew McCann of knowyourrights.ie says there aren’t enough incentives for those on the dole to return to work.
