A Government motion on the Cloyne report is to be debated in the Dáil today.
The motion "deplores the Vatican intervention – which contributed to the undermining of child protection guidelines" in the Cork diocese.
The report – which was published last week – outlined a catalogue of failures in safeguarding children.
