It follows the company's annoucement on Thursday that its to wind down operations at its Clarecastle facility by 2019.

The Community of Clarecastle is still reeling from the announcement that Roche is to wind down operations at its site there by 2019.

Its one of four facilities to be shut down worldwide following a global review of its operations.

It could lead to the loss of up to 500 direct and indirect jobs and a loss of 20 million euro a year to the local economy.

Speaking to Clare FM's Morning focus today, Jobs Minister described the decision by Roche as "disappointing" but Richard Bruton says that both the Government and the IDA remain optimistic that a new buyer will be found.

Community organisations in Clare says the closure of Roche would result in considerable financial losses for the village.

Secretary and PRO of Clarecastle Community Development says a number of local organisations rely on funds which have been invested by Roche on an anual basis.

Roche is the main sponsor for Clarecastle GAA. Chairperson Martin McNamara says that if the pharma company is shut down, it will have a detrimental effect on the club.
