The government's housing agency wants to start buying private homes for use as social housing in the next few weeks.

The agency has been given 70 million euro to buy vacant homes and sell them on to local authorities and housing agencies.
They say it will provide a quick and cheap source of social housing.
Conor Skehan from the Housing Agency says it's one of just a number of steps that will hopefully have a large impact.
