Government Hits Back At Claims Of Potential Shannon Jobs Losses

The government is hitting back at claims that Shannon Airport management want to cut jobs.

Limerick Sinn Féin Senator Paul Gavan says downgrading the airport from a category nine to a category seven for part of the year is a sign that there’s no credible future planned for Shannon.

He also believes they want to turn it into a “Ryanair airport for Europe”.

However, speaking on behalf of the Transport Minister, Junior Minister Damien English says the downgrading is flexible
