Government efforts to delay promissory note

 

Efforts are being made for the repayment of more than 3 billion euro of bank debt to be put on pause.

It emerged last night that the Governor of the Central Bank Patrick Honohan will ask the ECB’s permission to effectively delay a cash payment on the Anglo Irish promissory note, which is due by the end of March.

It comes after recent discussions with the Troika, aimed a making a deal on the matter with the Troika.
