Senior government figures have criticised the language used by some senators in the Seanad yesterday during the debate on the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill.

It’s after Fianna Fail Senator Jim Walsh – who is against the Bill – gave graphic accounts of abortion prompting Senator Ivana Bacik to walk out.
Today- he seeking to have the legislation renamed as the Abortion Bill.
The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has described the Senator’s comments yesterday as "inappropriate" and "over the top",
