The Government is considering an outright ban on smoking in cars.
Minister for Health Dr James Reilly said a ban was being considered where children under 16 were present.

However officials in the Department of Health said a blanket ban on smoking in cars would be considered – if it was unworkable to stop people smoking in cars where children were present.
