Government Confirms Stimulus Package

The government says 13-thousand new jobs will be created through a new stimulus plan announced today.

2-and-a-quarter billion euro is to be spent on a range of projects with the bulk of the money going to transport and education.

Primary care health centres are set to be built in Ennis, Gort and Limerick, while a new criminal courthouse is also set for Limerick City.

The government has also announced plans for a 57km extension of the M18 motorway from Gort to Tuam, and proposals to bring forward construction of school building projects, including St. Josephs Secondary School in Tulla

More than half of the funds will be raised from private sources, in the form of public private partnerships and 850 million euro will be raised through the sale of state assets.
