The government has been accused of ignoring the plight of publicans whose doors remain shut.
The Vintners Federation of Ireland is continuing with its campaign to secure support for pubs whose doors have been shut since March, and are warning that two-thirds of pubs are on course to close permanently by the New Year.

Their survey also shows that 82% of publicans no longer support the government, and that nearly two thirds say they’re suffering from extreme stress.
Despite these issues, Ennis publican Darragh McAllister says promised supports for the trade have not been delivered.
