The Gort-to-Tuam motorway extension looks set to open ahead of schedule by the end of the year.
The 53km motorway extension is currently expected to open in February of next year, but Galway Council have expressed hopes that it will be finished three months ahead of schedule.
Around 600 people are working on the project, and works on drainage and structures are progressing well.
The full scheme is now slated to open in November.
