Tests carried out in Lahinch this week have shown that water quality is well within standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Irish Water carried out an examination of bathing water at the North Clare beach on Wednesday as part of continued efforts to monitor bathing water quality in coastal areas around Clare.
The Water Utility company says it has now completed assessment of tenders and intends to award a contract in September for a design study on a number of areas where there is currently no treatment, including Liscannor Bay.
Irish Water says an update will be provided on the possibility of repairing a broken sewerage pipe there in the coming weeks and that Clare County Council will continue to monitor the situation in the meantime.
