Gilmore insists no decision on water meter charges made

The Tánaiste  insists the pricing structure for water charges hasn’t been decided yet – despite reports to the contrary.

It’s claimed householders will have to fork out a 40 euro annual fee for the water meter and installation costs – on top of usage charges.

A new company – known as Irish Water – has to be set up, to take over water services from local authorities and ministers are today due to sign off on which state body will take responsibility for operating it.
