Gerry Adams To Be Nominated For Taoiseach

The Sinn Féin President is to be nominated for the position of Taoiseach on Thursday. 

The move now effectively ensures that no candidate will have a majority to be elected Taoiseach when the 32nd Dáil meets.

Had Sinn Féin abstained then it gave a greater chance to Enda Kenny or Micheál Martin to become Taoiseach with the support of smaller parties and independents.
