A strong security presence is in place in much of North Clare ahead of the arrival of the German President.
Joachim Gauck will travel to Clare later today, on the third and final day of his official state visit to Ireland.

President Gauck will be presented with an honorary degree by Nui Galway this morning, before he travels to Ballyvaughan where he will visit a farm.
He'll then travel onwards to the Cliffs of Moher, and Clare Gardaí have said that additional resorces will be in place to police the event.
The cost of their operation is not yet known.
