Former US president George H.W. Bush has been admitted to hospital in Texas suffering from shortness of breath.

A family spokesman says the 90 year-old was taken in by ambulance as a precaution.
He served only one presidential term from 1989 to 1993, before being beaten by Bill Clinton, and then seeing his eldest son George W. Bush take over eight years later.
