Geodirectory Says High Commercial Vacancy Rate In Shannon Could Create Negative Atmosphere

The CEO Of Geodirectory says the high commercial vacancy rate in Shannon could create a negative atmosphere in the town.

The latest report from the data analysis company shows that almost 30% of Shannon’s business premises were empty in the final three months of 2022 – a rise of 5.9% on the previous year.

Shannon had the most vacant commercial properties in the country, while Kilrush had the second highest figure in Munster and the 8th highest nationally at 24.7%.

 

CEO of Geodirectory, Dara Keogh, has been telling Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan that Shannon could expand in the retail sector while Kilrush and Ennis could seek growth in the services industry.
