The general election count has been moved to North Clare for the first time.
Counting has been traditionally carried out in Ennis but the local authority experienced difficulty in securing a suitable venue, with the Government giving the mimnimum required notice for polling day.
The event will now take place in the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon on February 27th, where the outcome of the Clare vote will be unveiled.
County Registrar Pat Wallace says the issue was unavoidable.
Meanwhile, today is the last day for registering postal votes. Anyone with concerns are advised to contact Clare County Council.
A Supplement to the Election Register is currently being compiled and the closing date to get names on this is the 9th February.
Application forms available from Clare County Council or online at www.checktheregister.ie.
The forms must be signed in the presence of a member of An Garda Síochána and returned to the Council Offices at New Road, Ennis.
