A Clare general election candidate has withdrawn from the race, before it's even officially begun.
Inagh native Roisín Garvey was announced as the Greens' candidate in March of this year.
At the time, she spoke of how she wanted to be a strong voice for Clare in the Dáil, and that she wanted to provide long-term solutions to rural and urban problems.
Now though, she has pulled out of the race.
In a short statement, she's told Clare FM that she is making the decision for family reasons, and that she feels she could not be a good parent and run a strong campaign at the same time.
The announcement means there are now just three officially declared election candidates here, though that number will increase significantly between now and polling day.
Sinn Fein is to run Noeleen Moran, while Fianna Fáil duo Timmy Dooley and Michael McDonagh will also seek the public's support.
Labour's Michael McNamara says he wants to represent the party, but has yet to be officially selected, while Fine Gael's Clare candidates will be chosen at the party convention next month.
