Gardaí in Clare are warning students that money laundering is an illegal activity that can carry a penalty of up to 14 years in Jail.

It comes as an Ennis teenager and his parents reported to Ennis Garda Station that he’d willingly allowed his bank account to be used for a fraudulent lodgement.

The young man had been contacted through Snapchat and passed on his bank account details to another person.
