Gardaí in Clare are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from parked cars in Ennis and Shannon this week.

Five similar incidents were reported on Tuesday night – three in Shannon Town and two in Ennis, in which the emissions controlling catalytic converter was removed from vehicles parked in public areas.
It's believed the devices are valuable and may be sold on, and Gardaí are urging the owners of jeeps or four wheel drives to be careful in particular, as thieves have targeted vehicles with a high ground clearance and easy access to exhaust systems.
