Gardaí are urging people not to park illegally when visiting the county’s beaches and beauty spots this Bank Holiday Weekend.
An Garda Síochána’s Bank Holiday Roads Policing Operation is well underway, with a number of checkpoints across the county, in addition to patrols in both marked and unmarked vehicles.
Traditionally, the May Bank Holiday weekend attracts increased visitor numbers to Clare’s attractions, as the summer tourist season begins to gather momentum.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks is asking people to park safely and legally when visiting beaches as well as other public amenities.
“Parking illegally can lead to unnecessary risk and dangers such as forcing pedestrians to walk on busy roads. It is important to ensure that emergency services can gain access to all these areas at all times” she concluded.
