Gardaí in Clare are urging drivers to take extra care on the roads, following the re-opening of schools.

They say there’s now an increase in traffic on the roads, now that some of primary school students and leaving certificate students are back attending classes.

Garda checkpoints are continuing at key locations and people are still advised to stay at home, apart from work, education or other essential purposes.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks has this advice to anyone who has to head out on the roads.
