Gardaí Say Clare Seizure ‘Significant’ Step In Tackling Illegal Drugs Trade In The County

Gardaí have described the seizure of over 60,000 euro of suspected drugs and cash as a significant step, as part of efforts to tackle the illegal drugs trade in this county.

Gardaí from the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a yard in the Clarecastle area on Tuesday, during which suspected cannabis herb with a street value of 40,000 euro and 17,000 euro in cash was uncovered.

Follow up searches at fields in Ennis and Tiermaclane resulted in the seizure of over 2,500 euro in cash and 700 euro worth of suspected cannabis herb.

Two men aged in their forties were arrested in connection with the incident, but have since been released without charge.
