Gardai release Clarecastle man who allegedly threatened Irish Water worker with gun

Gardai in Ennis have released a man held over allegations that he threatened an Irish Water meter installer with a gun in Clarecastle yesterday.

The 59-year-old local man was released without charge and a file will be sent to the DPP regarding the incident.  He was arrested at Quay Road in Clarecastle after reports that he had pointed a rifle at a man installing a water meter outside his home.
