Gardaí are urging Clare fans attending the Munster Hurling Final in Thurles this Sunday to travel, park and secure their vehicle responsibility.
Fans driving from West Clare are encouraged to head for Tipp Town after reaching Limerick and to continue either via the motorway at Cashel or on the old N8 Cork to Dublin Road to avoid the bulk of remaining traffic.
Up to 95 Gardaí will be on duty and motorists are being advised to park their car facing home, not to illegaly park on footpaths and to ensure their windows are rolled up and doors are locked to prevent break-ins.
Inspector and Acting Superintendent at Thurles Garda Station James White also says that to ensure a safe environment on the day, alcohol must too be consumed responsibly.
