Human remains were discovered in a burned out mobile home at Tubber, Co Clare, on the 8th April 2005, close to where 23 year old Emer O’Loughlin lived with her boyfriend.

The mobile belonged to a man named John Griffin, also known as ‘Fozzie’, who Gardaí have since been trying to contact.

The remains were later identified as Emer’s and forensic tests indicated she’d died a violent death.

Gardaí believe John Griffin, who’d now be 57, may have information that can assist them, and two decades on, they hope the public can help with efforts to trace him.

He was formerly of the Mervue area of Galway City, with a last confirmed sighting, on the Aran Island of Inis Mór.

Anyone with information can contact Gort Garda Station on 091 636400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

And you can hear more on this on Clare FM’s Morning Focus this Tuesday morning from 9am.
