Gardaí have issued in urgent appeal to volunteers taking part in search efforts in North Clare to exercise extreme caution.
Searches have been taking place at the Cliffs of Moher and surrounding areas in recent days, following reports of a missing man.
The 27-year-old from Lahinch was last seen at his home on Sunday and was reported missing after his car was located at the entrance to the cliffs around 10 o'clock that night.
Searches involving Gardaí, the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard Helicopter, Rescue 115, and the Doolin unit of the Coastguard have been hampered by adverse weather conditions.
