There’s been wide condemnation of an act criminal damage at a Clare cemetery, where a family headstone was destroyed for the second time in 10 years.
The incident occurred between the 3rd and 4th of June at the Clareabbey Graveyard, where the stone at the grave of the Slattery family from Clarecastle was split in two and knocked to the ground.
The original gravestone, which was first erected in 1946, experienced the same fate a decade ago.
Gardaí say they’re following a definite line of enquiry but Ennis Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Daly says it’s a disgusting act:
And you can hear from the family affected by the incident on Clare FM’s Morning Focus this Tuesday morning from 9am.
