The suspect was male and part of a larger group.

Following this assault, the suspect and the larger group left the scene on foot, walking from New Road onto Newbridge Road.

The group was last seen walking over Club Bridge, in the direction of Ennis town.

In a separate incident on Barrack Street shortly before 1 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, a man in his seventies was approached by a man who reportedly became agitated and punched the injured party in the face.
