Gardaí are investigating after thousands of euro worth of goods were stolen during separate break-ins at two County Clare pubs.
The Bellfort Inn in Newmarket on Fergus and Setright’s Pub in Cratloe were targeted in the early hours of yesterday morning with cash, alcohol, cigarettes and a cigarette machine taken.
Two people are believed to have been involved in the Cratloe break in – One is described as tall and of slim build and was wearing a brown jacket with the hood up, blue jeans and black shoes.
The other man wore a black puffy jacket, blue jeans and a red woolly hat with a white design.
Gardaí also believe a silver/light blue people carrier- possibly a Hyundai Trajet was used and beer kegs, possibly taken in the early break-in at the Bellfort Inn, were spotted in the back.
Investigating officers are eager to speak to the driver of a Fiat Punto that passed the scene at the time of the robbery and may have noticed something.
They are also urging anyone who has been offered cigarettes, spirits, cider or kegs to contact them.
