Clare gardaí are urging the public to be wary of individuals calling to homes offering to do DIY work after an elderly man was targeted by a number of thieves.

The elderly man hired two men to clean his windows and gutters at his home on the Tulla Road in Ennis but the pair then stole money from the house before they left the scene.
Officers have described this as cynical theft in which the culprits targeted a vulnerable member of society.
