Gardaí investigate Kilrush Death

 

Kilrush Gardaí  are investigating the circumstances surround the death of a man in the West Clare town over the weekend.

Michael Noel Blunnie’s remains were discovered in his home in the early hours of Sunday.

The alarm was raised at around 7.30 last Sunday morning when the body of the man his early 60’s was discovered at a house in O Gorman Street in Kilrush.

Gardaí  sealed off the area and a technical team was called in – while the office of the state pathologist was also alerted.

A post-mortem was subsequently carried out at Limerick Regional Hospital but gardaí  are awaiting the results of further toxicology tests to determine the exact cause of death.

The body of Mr Blunnie, who worked for Kilrush Town Council was released to his family yesterday and he will be laid to rest after 10 o’clock mass in Saint Senan’s Church tomorrow.
