Gardai are investigating a fatal crash in West Clare that has claimed the life of a young trainee nurse.
The emergency services were called to the scene in Labasheeda shortly after half seven this morning.
Gardai say the 20 year died after her Toyota Yaris lost control on a stretch of road at Cloonkerry East, just 15 minutes from Kilrush.
It’s understood the young victim is from West Clare and worked as a trainee nurse at University College Hospital Galway.
Her body has been removed to Limerick Regional Hospital where a postmortum will be carried out this afternoon.
The road at Cloonkerry East was sealed off for several hours for a technical examination but has now reopened to traffic.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
