Gardaí Investigate Death Of Man On Board Aer Lingus Flight

Gardai are investigating the death of a man on board an Aer Lingus flight from Lisbon to Dublin yesterday evening.

A post mortem is due to be carried out today to find out how he died.

Flight EI 485 en route from Lisbon to Dublin had to be diverted to Cork yesterday evening, after a 24 year old man became unwell during the two hour journey.

The man reportedly became agitated, fell unconscious and was pronounced dead some time later.

It's understood he may have suffered a seizure and had to be restrained.

Another male passenger who was reportedly bitten during the flight, is still being treated at Cork University Hospital.

Gardai are now investigating the incident, and have spoken to some of the 170 passengers and crew who were on board.

A full post mortem will be carried out today at Cork University Hospital.
