Gardaí are investigating a burglary at a Victorian mansion in East Clare, believed to be owned by Ireland’s biggest lottery winner.
All taps and light fittings, as well as a copper cylinder, were taken from Tinerana House on the outskirts of Killaloe by thieves who broke into the property at some point between Friday and Saturday evening.
Tinarana House, once home to former GP Pascal Carmody, was put on the market by receivers last year, and purchased for nearly 1.5 million euro. It was reportedly bought by Euromillions winner Dolores McNamara.
In all, 13 burglaries have been recorded in Clare in the past week.
Items of jewellery and 1700 litres of agri-diesel were among the property taken during two seperate burglaries in Corofin, while jewellery was also taken from a home in Mullagh.
Burglaries have also been recorded in Sixmilebridge, Crusheen, Kilmaley and Ennis, along with thefts in Cratloe, Dromoland and Kilkee.
