At 2.20pm yesterday afternoon, a man brandishing a knife entered a shop in Connolly and made away with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

A short time later a white Volkswagen Golf was stolen from a nearby house.

Earlier, at around 1:00, there was an attempted robbery at a petrol station on the Lahinch Road in Ennis.

Gardaí believe the same man was involved in all three crimes.

The stolen car was recovered by Gardaí this morning and they’re following a definite line of inquiry in relation to the robbery and attempted robbery.

It is, however, thought to be separate to similar crime in Clarecastle on Wednesday night, in which a sum of money and a large quantity of cigarettes were stolen.

Anyone with information on the incidents is urged to contact their local Garda station.
