Gardai in Clare urge caution after night of sub zero temperatures

Gardai in Clare have dealt with almost 20 minor road accidnets today due to the icy conditions across the county

Roads in the Ennis town area atre being decribed as treacherous with Clarecatsle and the Gort Road area reported as very slippy.

In west Clare secondary routes around Moneypoint and the Killimer ferry terminal are also said to be very icy with a number of accidents reported while Darragh and Lissycasey has also seen a number of minor crashes.

Gardai in Shannon have also had to deal with a number fo minor incidents on both carriages of the m18 while roads in Newmarket in particular are said to be very dangerous.

Routes in the North and south east of the county are understood to be thawing out but gardai are still urging caution for all motorists
