Gardai Appealing For Witnesses Following Fatal South East Clare Crash

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road crash in a South East Clare yesterday.

A man in his 40’s sustained serious injuries in a single vehicle collision on the N18 and later passed away.

The crash happened at around 11.55am between Junction 5 Cratloe and Junction 4 Limerick.

The driver of the vehicle, who was its sole occupant, sustained serious injuries and later died from his injuries at University Hospital Limerick.

A post mortem examination is to be conducted at a later date.

The stretch of road where the incident occurred was closed for a number of hours yesterday but has now reopened.

Gardai say they’re appealing for people who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Motorists with dash cams who were travelling on the stretch of road between 11.45am and 12 noon yesterday, are being asked to make the footage available to a Gardai.
