Gardaí Appeal For Information Following Farm Accident

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a farm accident in West Clare.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched two separate investigations into the death of a man in his fifties, who lost his life after falling into a slurry pit on a farm in Leabasheeda last night.

Emergency services were alerted by contractors who were working on the farm at the time.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and transferred to University hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is due to take place today.
