Gardai appeal for witnesses after East Clare man killed in fatal road accident in Cork

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after an East Clare man was killed in a road traffic accident in Cork.

The 33 year old lost his life after being struck by a car in the early hours of the morning.

The male pedestrian was struck by a car on the N25 on the Cork side of Castlemartyr at approximately 5:15am.

He was removed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he later passed away – the driver of the car was uninjured.

The identity of the man has not been confirmed, but it is understood he hailed from the Tulla area of east Clare.

The road remains closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
