Gardaí appeal after major burglary at Newquay National school

Gardaí are investigating after thousands of euro worth of equipment were stolen from a school in North Clare.

Almost a dozen laptops, several cameras , a camcorder along with a sum of money was taken after thieves broke into Newquay National School last week.

The items taken included 11 Toshiba laptops, a white camcorder, 2 Fuji digital cameras, a black Nikon camera and a small amount of cash .

The thieves gained access to the computer room in the premises by forcing open a back window which had steal bars attached.

Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer Joe Downey says the burglary happened some time between  Wednesday night and Thursday morning and is urging anyone with information on it to come forward
