Gardai and the ESB are asking anyone who sees suspicious activity near overhead power lines or high voltage substations to get in touch.

However, they're advising people not to approach the thieves or the electrical network, as there may be live wires.
ESB Networks has been dealing with several incidents where live copper overhead lines have been stolen, as well as copper earthing conductor from substations, often leading to power cuts.
Three men appeared in court this morning in connection with an investigation into the theft of electrical cable, after they were arrested in Rathangan, Co Kildare yesterday.
So far this year, the ESB has spent around 4.6 million euro, replacing 142 kilometres of stolen power lines.
