Gardaí in Clare are warning motorists to drive with extra care this morning as Storm Barbara approaches.
Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings – a status orange wind warning is in place for coastal areas and high ground in Donegal, Galway and Mayo.
While, a low level yellow wind warning is in place for Clare and the rest of the country with gusts of 110 kilometres an hour expected until 6 o'clock this evening.
Drivers are being advised of excess water on the motorway and debris on backroads.
